Twin towns with Lahnstein (Germany))
This twin town partnership was created in 1969 with Lahnstein, a town of 20.000 inhabitants situated 10 km from Coblence, at the confluence of the rivers Rhine and Lahn, the beginning of the romantic river Rhine with its vineyards, castles and legends.
There are regular exchanges between the two towns : on odd-numbered years, the inhabitants of Vence travel to Lahnstein and are lodged with local German families- this is the spirit of twin towns, the even -numbered years, our German friends are invited to Vence.
Twin Towns with Ouahigouya (Burkina Faso))
In 1978 the triple towns was created with Ouahigouya (Burkina Faso, ex high Volta). Ouahigouyais situated 180 km north of Ouagadougou in the Yatenga province. This Vence-Lahstein-Ouahigouya is a partnership with the objective of accompaniment of development projects for which the town of Ouahigouya is master-builder.
Twin towns with Stamford (Royaume Uni))
This twin town partnership dates back to February 1978. In the twin town charter the two towns committed to “develop exchanges in order to cultivate friendship and an international meeting of minds, to encourage personal contact for a better understanding and fulfilment of the two populations, to address social, cultural, recreational, educational and economical issues, to support the development of relations between the two municipalities, with a view to a better understanding of the institutions of our mutual countries.” Since 1978, exchanges occur regularly, in Stamford the even-numbered years, in Vence, the odd-numbered years : the inhabitants of Vence are welcomed by the English families, and similarly the English are welcomed during 5 or 6 days by families in Vence.
